Rare Soviet propaganda poster presents a powerful visual metaphor: two heavy boots standing side by side. In one boot sits Stepan Bandera, with swastikas and blood on his vyshyvanka shirt and the trident emblem on the boot. In the other, a Nazi militant grips a blood-dripping axe, his boot bearing the nazi swastika.
The Ukrainian slogan reads: “Два чоботи — пара” (Two Boots — One Pair). 1945 by artist Kozyurenko (Козюренко).
The message is Ukrainian nationalist collaboration and German fascism as inseparable — “two of a kind.”
This is an exceptionally rare piece of wartime political art and a perfect present to your friend or enemy.
